DIY Irrigation Design Request

Fill in the details below and our irrigation designers will put together a custom plan for your lawn. The more accurate your information — especially the yard drawing with tap locations and measurements — the better your design will be.

A $350 design fee applies. If you accept the parts list quote, the design fee is added to it — not charged separately. Please allow a minimum of 2 weeks for your custom plan.

1. Your contact details

Used so we can check climate and water-restriction info for your area.

2. Your lawn

Front yard + back yard = 2. Garden beds count separately.

3. Water source

Mark these on your yard drawing too — we need to know how far the controller will run from each tap.

Leave blank if unsure — we'll suggest how to test it.

Fill a 9L bucket from the tap, time it. L ÷ seconds × 60 = L/min.

4. Controller & preferences

Mark the spot on your yard drawing too.

Affects whether a smart controller is suitable.

If you have brand loyalty or existing parts to match, let us know — otherwise we'll pick what suits your design best.

Your drawing must clearly show:

  • The overall shape of each lawn / area, with measurements in metres on every side
  • The location of every tap or water source
  • The areas that need watering (lawn, garden beds, etc.) clearly marked
  • Obstacles like trees, paths, decks, fences, the house footprint

A clean phone photo of a hand-drawn sketch on paper is fine — as long as the markup is clear and legible. You can also upload a screenshot from Google Maps with measurements drawn on top.

6. Timeline & notes

After you click submit, you'll see instructions to email your yard drawing to help@lawntips.net. Designs take a minimum of 2 weeks once we have both.
